Projects with a Purpose:
Building Community.
Making an Impact
Our members continue to transform woodworking into community service. Along with the bed frames and flag cases, we have produced lending library kits in partnership with United Way and Deloitte to encourage reading in neighborhood daycare centers; prepared birdhouse kits for the Chippewa Nature Center’s summer camp programs; and completing custom woodworking projects for local nonprofit organizations throughout Mid-Michigan.
Growing Through Partnerships
CSMM is grateful for the generous support of the Midland Area Community Foundation, whose grant funded a larger wood planer that allows us to mill donated lumber in-house, and the Midland 100 Club, whose investment provided a new dust collection and air handling system along with other important shop improvements. We also appreciate the many individual donors and philanthropic supporters whose generosity helps sustain our mission.
Building More Than Projects
Beyond woodworking, the Community Shed provides a welcoming place where members connect, learn, and enjoy the satisfaction of working together strengthening both our organization and the community we serve.
Our first six months
The Community Shed of Mid Michigan was proud to deliver handcrafted twin bed frames to Home To Stay, supporting their mission to help families transition into safe, stable housing.
Built by our dedicated volunteers, these beds represent more than just furniture — they reflect our commitment to serving neighbors in need with dignity and care.
We’re grateful to our members and donors who make projects like this possible, strengthening our community one build at a time.
